Janna Cosmo: Mother of Jason Cosmo. Little about her past is know. She was the runaway daughter of a minor landholder in Brythalia. She fled into the wilderness to escape an unknown danger and found her way to Lower Hicksnittle, where she met and married Jolan Cosmo. Jolan and Janna had one son, Jason.

Janna Cosmo was strong-willed, educated, and beautiful -- in other words, completely unlike the village women of Lower Hicksnittle, who treated her badly and suspected her of witchcraft. Perhaps the only literate inhabitant of Lower Hicksnittle, she had a small collection of books on history, geography, mathematics and other topics which she used to educate her son in matters beyond turnip farming.
