Zastrian Senate: The supreme lawmaking and governing body of the Republic of Zastria (aka Zastria). After the Zastrian Revolution led to the abolishment of both the monarchy and the nobility, the former nobles simply declared themselves a Senate and proceeded to rule the newly founded republic. Unlike the Carathan Senate, with its varying membership and multiple avenues of gaining office, the Zastrian Senate is limited to 100 hereditary members, who serve for life. Among its other powers the Senate elects the President of Zastria from among its members.
